I adore Ramirez, V. adore. As in... I adore him so much my roommates want to strangle me. XD

It's all because of this fic, as I haven't even played the entire game out yet. I'm getting there though, bear with me!

So, hum, that's me. *takes a bow*

Oh, for the love of the gods. Finish the game!

It's not like it'll make you love Ramirez less. 9_9

Hahahaha, I assure you I haven't *stopped* yet- I mostly only pause to post, read a fic when one grabs me by the ears, eat, and sleep. And even then, all but the sleeping- is usually done with the game controller in hand. :P

That's why I loff the above mentioned fanfic. If you don't mind minor slash, it's **extremely** good. I've even been pondering doing fanart for it.

Gah. I understand slashing, but why FORCE it so badly when there's such an immediately obvious pairing? ::exasperated sigh::

Do Vyse and Ramirez even _speak_ to each other in SoA?

Re:

(Permanent Link)
Hahaha, well ordinarily I'd agree, but this story's AU- splitting off during Vyse and co's second escape from the Valuan capital. Ramirez comes to investigate a gut feeling, I suppose, and Vyse sends the other two off to find a ship while he holds off/stops whoever it is. Then we find it's Rami, Vyse pulls some severe luck outta his ass, and manages to knock him out.

Then the fic takes a really weird- if necisarry to the new plot- spin when Vyse for gods-know-WHAT reason decides to drag unconcious Ramirez along with them. They get their new ship, meet the prince, etc. It's actually a very good story and I'd recomend at least reading the first few chappies to see if it makes you bash your head against a wall ;)

That's why -I- decided to flip through it, I was thinking... Vyse? Ramirez? Oh gods, this is gonna be terrible...

And I was pleasantly surprised ^^

Re:

Ohh come on! Who wouldn't love Vyse? :D! Slash implications are good for you. Everyone should have them. It doesn't mean, absolutely, that there's nookie involved, or even thinking about nookie, you know...

Ramirez: OMFG I WANNA SCREW VYSE

but more like:

Ramirez: ...wow, I hate Vyse. I hate him. I hate him. Screw this, why am I obsessed with him?

More like that ^_^ Well, in my opinion anyway. Subtle slash implications are good for character development. Doesn't mean that Vyse reciprocates or even that they get together. It's very subtle. My Lawrence fic has subtle "vyse!love" implications as well. Just because everyone's inspired by him, and it's very hard not to get caught up in his determined personality.

I have to admit some fascination with Lawrence/Vyse.

Okay, maybe I'm just a twoo believer in Ramirez/Galcian and Aika/Vyse/Fina. Gah, someone shoot me.

You are of course entitled to your preferred couplings (and triplings, as the case may be n.n;), and if you don't like a fanfic on one you find amazingly contrived (which, of course, it is, no point in denying it), again, you are entitled to your opinion. ^^ Why didn't Ianthe and I wrote Galcian/Ramirez? Well, to be honest, we don't like it. 9_9; When we originally started writing The Day the Moon Shines, it was really as a joke, but then we kept writing... (*cough*) The first few chapters are depressingly contrived, I admit completely, and the first chapter in particular requires a great amount of suspension of disbelief. There is no way to get Vyse and Ramirez to interact (that wouldn't quickly lead to Vyse's death, anyway) that isn't contrived, and I'm just happy to say that in later chapters, when we got more used to things (and more skilled at writing), things become more believable. The earlier chapters have been touched up, and some parts re-written, but they could probably stand complete re-writings... One day, perhaps. 6_6;

Anyway, if you don't want to read, that's fine. As for Galcian/Ramirez--well, despite not liking it, I can't deny that it's viable, because it is. I won't say canon, because a) I view Ramirez's attitude towards Galcian as one of utter respect and reverence, like (as a friend of mine once put it) how a little boy looks up to Superman, and b) even if Ramirez were in love with Galcian, which is entirely possible, Galcian's attitude towards Ramirez is unmistakable cold; he views him as an extremely useful, irreplacable tool, not as a human being with feelings and desires. Galcian does not care about love; he only cares about power and absolute, unswavering loyalty to him and his cause. He is not beneath manipulation to achieve his ends, either, as we see when Belleza questions Galcian's decision to resurrect Soltis, and Galcian reassures her that the Rains of Destruction are only a last resort and has her go to Valua to trick the Empress into cowing so there doesn't have to be any unnecessary bloodshed, then uses the RoD anyway. Because Belleza showed signs of turning against him, he pre-emptively sent her to her death--that's the kind of man Galcian is. Of course, he has his honorable side as well, which we see when he tells the mooks to be careful with Gregorio's dead body because it's worth more than their lives combined, even though Gregorio was (as far as Galcian would be concerned) a traitor and Galcian himself killed him. Still, showing respect to a powerful enemy (and remember, power is everything to Galcian) and showing affection, which would be viewed as a weakness to a man like the Grand Admiral, are two VERY different things. That's why I believe that the only way Galcian would ever reciprocate any feelings of love Ramirez might have for him would be to use them as a way of manipulating and controlling him--something that is admittedly far from beneath him.

...Hmm. That's actually a pretty interesting idea. Maybe I'll write a one-shot about that someday.

...I wonder if I should have made this a separate post. 6_6;;

Oh, yeah, and since you requested it--(*shoots you*) n_n

Re:

(Permanent Link)
So Galcian isn't above manipulation, but wouldn't use Ramirez' love for him to manipulate him? Sounds like you need to do some more organization of your thoughts before you bring this into my house.

I'm not going to go into the hows and whys of why I didn't read past the first page of your fic unless you want me to, but I will state that it had little to do with your choice of pairing.

Okay. That may have been a little unnecessary.

You have spirit, and I like that. I'm certainly glad you're in our fandom, whether I like your writing style or not. So kindly ignore my crazed negativity and let's just both keep writing in our own idioms for the good of the fans.

n.n; I am perfectly willing to agree to disagree, but for your previous statement, I think you may have misunderstood something. I said Galcian WOULD use any love Ramirez might have for him to manipulate him.

I see what you're saying -- I interpreted this statement to say something different than it does. I still think you might be missing something about Galcian's character if you think manipulation is beneath him. I mean, it's his whole game. He really is that much of a sleaze.

His honor regarding his goals is another story, but his honor in dealing with his cronies is not really there at all.

--you're misinterpreting me again. I said manipulation is NOT beneath Galcian. ^^; You're actually agreeing with me, particularly when you call him a sleaze. This is my entire point when I say Galcian/Ramirez, if it occurred at all, would only be one-sided on Ramirez's part, much like with Belleza.

But of course, my slash coupling is at least twenty times more improbable than yours, so far be it for me to tell you not to indulge in it. (*l*) I'm just stating my opinion on the matter. You are, naturally, free to state your own.

Hahahaha, well ocassionally you *do* find a gem. That's how I found this one, I went to see if it was horrid *lol* and was pleasantly surprised. I might try my hand at SoA fiction once I'm done with the game and am a little more comfortable in the fandom- but not until Bloodstained Steel is done.

:(

If I start another story now it'll *never* get back on track, heh.
